What is a hop up gun?
Hop-up is the backspin put on airsoft pellets and BBs to increase their range via the Magnus effect. In airsoft guns, this is usually implemented as a projection (called a bucking) into the path of the projectile, on the top of the barrel.

The bucking is a piece of rubber found inside the hopup chamber of an airsoft gun. This is because of the backspin that the bucking/hopup chamber puts on the BB as it is fired and exits the barrel. Airsoft guns fire a round projectile through a smooth bore barrel which is significantly limited in range without hopup.

Can you r-hop a GBBR?
Upgrading the hop up rubber of your gun can have a drastic effect on your range and consistency; a soft hop up rubber will give you better lift, whilst a thicker hop up rubber will be more consistent. However, the most consistent you can get is a custom made R-Hop!
